Semi-tubular rivets, also known as hollow rivets, feature a shallow hole at the tip opposite the head. They work by rolling the hollow part outward using force applied to the shank. This rolling or folding action secures the rivet around the edge of the material. The advantage of semi-tubular rivets lies in their reduced installation force requirement. In fact, they only need about a quarter of the force compared to solid rivets. Additionally, this type of rivet can be fastened to either a tight or loose fit, depending on the specific application.
